    Pictorial staple-bound wrappers, size is 8” x 10 ½”.
Original 1930 brochure from Eaton’s published to celebrate the opening of their new store in Toronto located at Yonge and College. In 1928 Eaton's announced that it would build the largest retail and office complex in the world at the corners of Yonge and College in Toronto. The complex would include a 38-storey art deco skyscraper. Eaton's even planned to turn the area to the new centre of shopping in Toronto, with the idea of moving their main Toronto location (Yonge and Queen) to the area and by even offering Simpson's adjacent land to move their operations as well. This all ended with the Great Depression and in 1930 Eaton's open a 7-storey and this brochure celebrates that moment.

The location included on the Seventh floor the 1300-seat Eaton Auditorium and the Round Room restaurant designed by French architect Jacques Carlu. The auditorium was recently restored in 2003 and renamed the Carlu.

In 1977 Eaton's College and Eaton's Queen Street closed with the opening of the Eaton's Centre. The Eaton's College store remained and is now known as College Park.

A scarce bit of Eaton's history.
